Installing the Avaya Endpoint Access Control Agent
The NoVM version has no bundled JVM, thus the kit is smaller and downloads faster. You must
have JRE 1.5.0 installed on your PC.

Standard installation kit

Standard VM kit—EacaVm_5.4.0_006.exe is a single file installer. MSI installs if it is not found
on the machine. JRE 1.6.0_24 is included.
Standard NoVM kit—EacaNoVm_5.4.0_006.exe is a single file installer. MSI installs if it is not
found on the machine. No JRE is included.

Customizable installation kit

Avaya EAC Agent has two customizable installation Windows Installer MSI packages:
• EacaCstVm_5.4.0_006.msi which bundles JRE 1.6.0_24;
• EacaCstNoVm_5.4.0_006.msi without JRE.
To install the Avaya EAC Agent customizable kits on Windows Vista or Windows 7 the user
must run the installer using administrators privileges. Extra steps are needed to gain
administrator privileges. You can open a DOS command console with the "Run as
administrator" menu command, and then run the MSI installer from the command console. You
can also to deploy the MSI installer by using Windows Group Policy, which is commonly used
by IT administrators.
Note:
Double-clicking the MSI installer directly prompts to exit, even if you are an administrator.
This occurs because Windows Vista and 7 always use administrator users standard user
tokens by default unless you explicitly choose "Run as administrator" when launching a
program. However, the "Run as administrator' option is not available to MSI files by
default.
Command line and silent installation
You can be install, modify or remove Avaya EAC Agent using the command line. Use
Msiexec.exe to perform operations on Windows Installer from the command line. System
administrators can use this feature to easily deploy software packages without any user
interaction. The command line switch /qn is used to indicate a silent install.
For silent installation, the reboot dialog box is not necessary as a reboot is performed
automatically.
Usage examples:
Msiexec /I EacaCstVm_5.4.0_006.msi /qn
Silently install Avaya EACA: displays no user interface.
