Figure 13: Removing the backplane holder
Ê Lift the backplane holder a little way and tilt it slightly away from the HDD
cage (1).
Ê Lift the backplane holder up and off (2).
Ê Place the backplane holder with the new 3.5" HDD backplane against the
HDD cage at a slight angle. Then lower the backplane holder. Metal tongues
on the lower edge of the backplane holder ensure that it is automatically
centered.
Ê Push the backplane holder against the HDD cage until the centering tabs
(see the figure above) on the upper edge engage.
Ê Fasten the backplane holder using the screw.
Ê Attach the connectors of the SAS/SATA cable and the power cable to the
3.5" HDD backplane (see the cabling plans in the Options Guide).
Ê Reinstall all hot-plug hard disk drives in their former slots.
Ê Close the server and connect all power plugs (for a detailed description see
the Options Guide).
