Beeper Indications / Default Application Error Codes

Table 4-4 list beep sequence and their meanings for standard beeps programmed into the
scanner. Other applications written for the scanner can have their own beep sequences and
therefore are not listed in this table. See your System Administrator for beep sequences
and their meanings.
For additional information on Error Codes, see Communication Errors on page 3-5.
Beeper Sequence
Standard Use
Short high tone
4 Beeps - long low
5 Beeps - low tone
Hi/Hi/Hi/Lo tone
4 Beeps - short Hi
4 Beeps - Lo/Hi/Lo/Hi An RF transmission error has occurred.
Parameter Menu Scanning

Indication
A bar code symbol was decoded (if
decode beeper is enabled).
A host transmission error occurred. Data
was not successfully sent to the host
device. This occurs if a unit is not
properly configured. Check option
settings.
Convert or format error.
RS-232 receive error.
Battery requires recharging.
Move closer to the cradle and re-scan
the bar code.
Correct entry scanned or correct menu
sequence performed.
