Remove and Replace the Display Panel

Remove the Display Panel
1. Disconnect the LCD flat ribbon cable (3) from the System/Core I/O Board. Refer to Figure 10-26.
2. Inside the chassis behind the display panel, press the tab on the EMI shielding to release the cable.
3. Pull the black grommet out to release the EMI bracket.
4. Press the two mounting tabs on the top of the display, and pull the display away from the chassis.
5. Pull the cable through the opening in the chassis behind the display panel.
Replace the Display Panel
1. Insert the cable through the opening in the chassis behind the display panel..
2. Angle the bottom of the display so the slot hooks over the mounting edge.
3. Push the top of the display toward the chassis until the tabs snap into place.
4. Insert the tabs on the bottom of the EMI bracket into the slots on each side of the display panel
bracket.
5. Press the EMI bracket flat against the chassis, and push in the black grommet.
6. Insert the ribbon cable inside the EMI shielding, and snap the tab back into place.
7. Route the ribbon cable under the front fan and down through the opening to the right of the
hotswap/removeable media area, above the hotswap blower. Exit the ribbon cable from under the
rear of the removeable media area.
8. Reconnect the display panel flat ribbon cable to the System/Core I/O Board.
NOTE
The display panel flat ribbon cable connector and the System/Core I/O Board
connector are keyed for correct orientation.
