1-13. SNMP

NSS-S2 implements SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
To monitor and manage NSS-S2 on a network with SNMP, set the followings.
Implemented SNMP specifications
The SNMP Agent of NSS-S2 supports followings:
SNMP version: SNMPv1
MIB definition: SMIv2
Support PDU:
GetRequest, GetNextRequest, SetRequest, GetResponse, Trap
Standard MIB:
MIB-2
Extended MIB: SONY-PRO-MIB, PROV1-RAID-MIB, PROV1-NSS-S-MIB
Setting
Community Name: Default setting is "public". ; Change is possible using the control panel menu.
TRAP IP Settings:
Default setting is "0.0.0.0". ; Set up using the control panel menu.

For each MIB structure, get information and description of trap sent from NSS-S2 to SNMP Manager,
refer to the maintenance manual of NSS-S2.

1-13-1. Setting of Community Name

1. Display the CONFIGURATION menu screen. (Refer to Section 1-12-1.)
2. Display the "SNMP COMMUNITY" using [UP] or [DOWN] key.

3. Press [ENTER] key to enter a new community name.
4. Repeat the following steps (1) and (2) to enter a desired community name.
(1) Set a desired character using [UP] or [DOWN] key.
(2) Press [RIGHT] or [LEFT] key to move the cursor position.
5. Press [ENTER] key when the input is complete.
6. The check screen is displayed.
