5.3 Programming of the TM54F
The following diagram shows the assignment of the F-DI for drive group 2. This group
usually only includes the spindle of the machine tool. In the following figure, you can see
that:
● STO is interconnected with F-DI2:
● SS1 is interconnected with F-DI0:
The functions with STO at the top and SLS at the bottom also indicate the priority. STO has
higher priority than all other functions. SLS is always active (level "0") if a function with
higher priority is not active. SLS limits 1 and 2 are statically inactive, i.e. static level "1". This
means that if SLS is active, then it is SLS4. This is the case under the following conditions:
● The doors are closed and locked.
● No Emergency Stop has been initiated.

This means that the spindle is in STO is as long as the door is open.
This also corresponds to the setting for the feed axes in drive group 1. F-DI0 is for
Emergency Stop.
