12. TROUBLESHOOTING
12.1 TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
PROBLEM
Engine will not start.
Auger will not start.
Electrical functions are not work-
ing properly.
Remote throttle doesn't work.

CAUSE
No fuel.
Low engine oil.
Cold engine.
Ignition key switch off.
Battery dead.
Engine problem.
Not rotating.
Drive pulley connection or auger
coupling.
Drive belt slipping.
No hydraulic oil in reduction case. Check oil level.
Failed centrifugal clutch.
Battery cable or battery.
Improper ground.
No input power.
SOLUTION
Fill the fuel tank.
Fill the crankcase with oil.
Open choke.
Turn ignition key switch on.
Recharge or replace battery.
Refer to engine manual.
Start engine and increase speed above
1400 RPM.
Repair or replace.
Increase belt tension.
Replace clutch.
Check battery cable and make sure battery
is fully charged.
Check for proper grounding of electrical
circuit.
Check charge of battery. Recharge or
replace, as required.
Check connections in the remote throttle
harness. Be sure connectors are clean and
terminalsarefirmlypushedtogether.
