Maintenance information and
precautions
• The unit becomes warm while in use. This is
normal.
• Do not place the unit in locations that are:
– Extremely hot or cold
– Dusty or dirty
– Very humid
– Vibrating
Notes on dry batteries
To avoid possible damage from battery leakage
or corrosion, observe the following.
• Be sure to insert the batteries in the correct
direction.
• Dry batteries are not rechargeable.
• Do not use a combination of new and old
batteries.
• Do not use different types of batteries.
• The batteries slowly discharge while not in
use.
• Do not use a battery that is leaking.
If battery leakage occurred
• Wipe off the liquid in the battery case carefully
before replacing the batteries.
• If you touch the liquid, wash it off with water.
• If the liquid get into your eyes, wash your eyes
with a lot of water and then consult a doctor.
The battery charger for this camcorder is
designed to charge Sony Ni-Cd batteries and
should only be used for such purpose, or for the
purpose of charging batteries that are compatible
therewith and allow it to function safely. This
battery charger should not be used with Ni-MH
batteries as it may cause excessive rise in
temperature of Ni-MH batteries.
Sony does not warrant the compatibility or safety
of this battery charger for use with batteries other
than Sony Ni-Cd batteries. Before using this
battery charger for charging batteries other than
Sony Ni-Cd batteries, confirmation should be
obtained from the battery manufacturers that
such batteries are compatible with this charger
and may be used safely therewith.
If any difficulty should arise, unplug the unit and
contact your nearest Sony dealer.
