Sequence of Steps to Be Taken

Before starting up the CP 440 you will need to perform the following steps in the
specified sequence.
1. Install the CP 440
2. Configure the CP 440
3. Parameterize the CP 440
4. Save the parameterization data
5. Create a user program for the CP 440
Installing the CP 440
Installing the CP 440 involves inserting it into the mounting rack of your
programmable controller.

Connecting the CP 440 to the Communication Partner
The connection to your communication partner is made using the connecting cable
described in Appendix B. You can find additional information on setting up the
physical interface in Section 3.2.
Configuring the CP 440

is configured using the STEP 7 software.
