Quick Reference Guide
REMOTE RECEPTION
Press 1 if you want to be able to activate fax
reception from an extension phone using
the above TEL/FAX REMOTE NUMBER.
Press 2 to turn remote reception off.
TRANSACTION REPORT
This sets the condition under which a
transaction report is printed. Press a
number key from 1 to 5 as follows:
1: After every transmission and reception.
2: After an error, timer or memory
transmission.
3: Only after transmissions.
4: Never.
5: Only after errors.
PSEUDO RING DURATION
This sets the duration of the special ringing
sound that alerts you to voice calls in TEL/
FAX reception mode. Press 1 for 15
seconds, 2 for 30 seconds, 3 for 60
seconds, or 4 for 120 seconds.
QUIET DETECT TIME
When an answering machine is connected
to the fax and the reception mode is set to
A.M., the fax will take over the line and
begin reception if it detects a certain
duration of silence after the answering
machine answers a call. This sets the
duration of silence in seconds. Enter a
number from 01 to 10, or enter 00 to turn off
the function.
QUIET DETECT START TIME
Use this if you need to delay the start of the
above Quite Detect Time function. Enter a
two-digit number for the number of seconds
of the delay (00 to 15).
SELECT AUTO RECEIVE
Press 1 to have your fax automatically
answer a call after 5 rings in A.M. mode if
an answering machine connected to the fax
fails to answer before that time. Press 2 to
turn off the function.

LANGUAGE SELECT
Use this to change the language used in the
display, reports and lists. Press the START
key, press * or # until the desired language
appears in the display, and then press the
START key again.
PBX CONNECTION
Use this setting if your fax is connected to a
PBX. Press 1 to select YES, and then select
the mode for connection to an outside line
(1 for EARTH, 2 for FLASH, or 3 for ID). If
you selected ID, enter your PBX ID number
and then press the START key. Finally,
select the register recall mode (1 for
EARTH, 2 for FLASH, or 3 for NO
OPERATION).
FAX SIGNAL RECEIVE
Press 1 to have your fax automatically begin
reception if you hear a soft fax tone after
answering a call. Press 2 to turn the
function off (turn the function off if you use a
computer fax modem on the same line).
JUNK NUMBER CHECK
Press 1 to block reception from fax numbers
entered in the Anti Junk Number List. Press
2 to allow reception from all numbers.
POLLING
Press 1 to use Rapid Key 16/POLL as a
polling key. Press 2 to use it as a regular
Rapid Key.
AUTO COVER SHEET
Press 1 to have the fax automatically
generate a cover sheet and send it as the
last page of each transmission. Press 2 to
turn the function off.
AUTO PRINT OUT
Press 1 to have your fax automatically print
out an Activity Report once every 30
operations. (The list can still be printed out
on demand when desired.) Press 2 to turn
off automatic print out.
