SBV5422 Rear Panel Overview

The rear panel provides cabling connectors and the power receptacle:

HOME ALARM
Provides the connection to an existing home alarm system using a RJ-31X connector.
SYSTEM
The factory places a sticker over this port. Remove the sticker only
when you are ready to use the port to install a home alarm system.
Never insert any other devices into the Home Alarm System port.

POWER
Provides AC power to the digital voice modem.

TEL 1/2, TEL 2
Telephone ports provide connections for two telephone lines.
Currently, the SBV5422 only supports Motorola Handsets

ETHERNET
Provides the connection to Ethernet-equipped computers using a cable terminated with
an RJ-45 connector.

REBOOT
If you experience a problem, you can push this recessed button to reset the digital voice
EMTA
modem (see
some time (5 to 30 minutes) because the digital voice modem must find and lock on the
appropriate communications channels.

CABLE
Provides the connection to the
"Front-Panel Lights and Error Conditions"
coaxial cable
