8. Valve Clearance

A: INSPECTION

Inspection and adjustment of valve clearance

should be performed while engine is cold.

1) Set the vehicle onto the lift.

2) Lift-up the vehicle.

3) Remove under cover.

4) Lower the vehicle.

5) Disconnect battery ground cable.

6) Remove timing belt cover (LH).

VALVE CLEARANCE

7) Remove rocker cover.

8) When inspecting #1 and #3 cylinders;

(1) Remove bolt which secures air intake duct

to radiator panel side.

(2) Remove air intake duct as a unit.

(3) Remove bolt, and then remove resonator

(4) Disconnect spark plug cords from spark

plugs (#1 and #3 cylinders).

(5) Disconnect PCV hose from rocker cover

(6) Remove bolts, then remove rocker cover
