7. Insert the shaft into the hole in the door with
the hook of the latch facing the center of the
door.
8. The bent end of the spring slides into a
notch in the door.

9. Before fully seating the shaft in the door,
rotate the shaft one full turn to wind
the spring and provide the tension to
automatically return the hook of the latch
from the 11 o'clock position to the 1 o'clock
position.
10. Seat the shaft into the door.

11. While holding the shaft tight to the inside
of the door, reinstall the knob.
NOTe: If the center collar of the knob is not
held in place, the shaft can push the collar
out, and allow the ball bearings to fall out. If
this happens, loosen, without removing, the
four Allen set screws in the channels of the
handle. Reinstall a spring and ball bearing
into each channel. Insert the collar into the
center of the knob. Tighten the Allen set
screws until they are flush with the end of
each channel. The ball bearings will seat in
each notch of the center collar.
12. Align the flat side of the shaft with the flat
in the collar of the knob.

13. Hold the shaft tight to the inside of the
door with tension on the spring.
14. Hold the collar, in the center of the knob,
to keep the collar and ball bearings in place.
15. Slide the handle onto the shaft with the
flats aligned.
16. Insert flat washer into center of the knob.
17. Reinstall the nut on the shaft.
