Step-Down Transformer - Model 22 Dryers - Maytag MDG25PN Service Manual

Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
Model 22 dryers will have a 220VAC to
120VAC step-down transformer on the CCU
bracket to provide proper power to the CCU.
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
2. Turn off gas supply to dryer.
3. Remove the step-down transformer
(See page 4-8).

nOTE: Model 25 dryers do not have a
step-down transformer, which makes the
CCU not backwards compatible from model
25 to model 22

4. Set ohmmeter to the R X 1 scale.
Set digital ohmmeters to lowest scale.
5. Touch the meter test leads to the terminals
listed below:
Pins GY2 & BK3 = 27Ω
Pins GY2 & WH1 = 45Ω
Pins BK3 & WH1 = 74Ω
All readings ± 5%
