a.
Locate the 9/16" dia. hole in the middle frame support of the reflector base. The paint has been masked in
a 1.5" dia. circle around this hole. The remaining galvanized surface ensures low contact resistance for
proper grounding.
b.
Apply a light coating of conductive grease (supplied with cable) over the galvanized surface.
c.
Attach one end of the Grounding Cable to this surface using the 2-13 x 1.5" LG. hardware supplied.
d.
Attach the other end of the Grounding Cable to the 9/16" diameter hole on the antenna pedestal,
dedicated for a ground bond, using the 2-13 x 2.5"LG. hardware supplied. Apply a light coating of
conductive grease to this surface also.
Grounding Cable for Beamswitch Control Box

a.
Connect grounding cable P/N 175707-1 between the grounding lug on the Beamswitch Control Box and
the existing second hole in the main boom using 9963-89 bolt, 9999-57 nut, 9997-42 flat washer and
9974-15 lockwasher.
b.
Drill 9/32 inch DIA hole in the middle of the Antenna Base as shown in Figure 3-10.
c.
Connect grounding cable P/N 175707-2 between third hole in the main boom to drill hole.
Notes: Remove the paint layer from any surface before connecting any grounding terminal. Only remove the
paint to the galvanized steel. Do not remove the galvanization.
Apply grease P/N 203233-2 on the terminal and the surface before connecting any grounding terminal.
Use connector weatherproofing to seal connectors on Control Box per paragraph 3.3.11.1.
