Lift antenna until slings are taut but not raising the antenna. Adjust the turnbuckles to tighten the
safety lines (no slack).
WARNING: Failure to properly install safety lines may cause severe injury to personnel or
equipment.
h.
Proceed with antenna lift. Tag lines (not supplied) should be attached and used by at least 2 people on
the ground to control the antenna during lifting.
i.
Position the antenna/base over the pedestal via crane.
Refer to Table 3-5
j.
The following personnel is required to lower the antenna onto the pedestal:
Station personnel at the front of the pedestal, holding each Elevation Adj. Screw vertically and to
ensure alignment of the slots in the side lugs of the base to pass over the Elev. Adj. Screws.
- Station personnel aft of the pedestal and antenna to guide Trunnions (item 10) to the mounting holes
in the antenna base.

Slowly lower the antenna/base to the pedestal with the Trunnions already attached per section
3.3.1(e).

Bolt the Trunnions to the PSR base with the 7/8" hardware as shown in Fig.3-3. Tighten to 430 foot
pounds.
m.
At the Elev. Adj. Screws, run the Elevation Nuts (item 5) up the screw to the underside of the Base to
position the Base horizontally.
n.
Shift or move the antenna as required to center the Elev. Adj. Screws in the slots, lower the antenna
until the lift lines become slack.
o.
Install the 1-1/2" Nuts, lock washers, and flat washers (items 7, 8, 9) to the Elevation Adj. Screws.
Tighten to 400 foot Pounds.
p.
Loosely assemble the Tilt Indicator Plate (item 24) to the PSR Base as shown using the #8 hardware
(items 22 and 23) provided.
q.
To the top of the right-hand Elevation Adj. Screw, assemble the Tilt Pointer (item 14) using the 1/4"
hardware (items 15, 16, 17) provided. Do not fully tighten hardware at this time.
