Installing the Router
Mounting on a Wall, Table, or Other Flat Surface
WARNING: Read the wall-mounting instructions carefully before beginning installation. Failure to use the
correct hardware or to follow the correct procedures could result in a hazardous situation to people and damage
to the system. Statement 378
To mount the router on a wall, follow these steps:
1. Locate the mounting holes on the router. There are 4 holes are shown in
Figure 19: Cisco IR829 Mounting
Holes, on page
47. The mounting distance between the holes shown as #1 is 3.94 inches (10.0 cm), and the
mounting distance between the holes shown as #2 is 10.64 inches (27.0 cm).

2. Install the router to a wall stud using two number-10 wood screws, round- or pan-head, with number-10
washers or two number-10 washer-head screws. The screws must be long enough to penetrate at least 1.0 inch
(25.4 mm) into the supporting wood or metal wall stud. (See

48.)
