Keys
Your
car
is supplied
master key that fits the ignition
and all locks, and a basic key
that fits the ignition and doors
but not the hatch or glove box.
The basic key is provided for
times when you must leave the

repair person, but still want to
keep valuables

case you ever need to have duplicates made. Both the master and
basic keys are double-edged, so you can insert them in the locks
with either side up.
Door Locks
You can lock the doors on a 3 Door Hatchback by pushing its tab
forward; lock the doors on a 5 Door Hatchback by pushing the
plunger down. Both kinds of doors must be unlocked before you
can open them from the inside or outside. The passenger doors
can be locked when open, and will stay locked when you close
them. The driver's door, however, cannot be locked when open
unless the door handle is held open and the tab is pushed forward
(on the 3 Door Hatchback) or the plunger is pushed down (on the 5
Door Hatchback).
On the 5 Door Hatchback LS, the passenger doors will lock
automatically when the plunger on the driver's door is pushed
down, or when the driver's door is locked from the outside with
a key.
