AT&T supports different line type in nearly every country, but which type is supported differs per country:
ADSL: this setting gives the best results on standard ADSL connections. These are also the more legacy lines,
the slowest. This line type uses the light grey socket on the modem.
VDSL: This settings is the intermediate fast, but uses the same light grey socket on the Gateway as ADSL.
FTTH: This is usually the fastest line type, and requires an external Fiber-Optic modem, to which is connected
using a straight Ethernet cable. The
Your service manager or corporate network administrator will be able to inform you on the line type to select.
If you have selected the wrong line type your Gateway should still connect, but there may be a performance
degradation and the LED indications will not be accurate. Please inform your network administrator if the line type
selected is wrong for your situation, or if the line speed and quality is not as expected.

In router mode the gateway supports a network time protocol client, which can update the internal clock on the
gateway. This panel allows you to set the time client to connect to the closest server to adjust its gateway time:
Figure 24 Network Time protocol configuration. This will keep the router clock
on the correct local time.
Please select your geography and time zone, and whether you want or need to correct for Daylight Saving Time.
This configuration has no impact on the routing and security functionality of the Gateway.

On the Technicolor TG789 Gateway Wireless LAN (WLAN) access is disabled by default for security reasons. It can be
enabled by editing the following panel and setting the tick box. WLAN access is only supported as Best Effort.
The TG789VAC v2 has a dual WLAN antenna and does support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The same SSID is used for both
frequencies.
