HOW TO USE THE VIDEO MODE

Outline
• Video mode 1 : Cross color suppression mode
This is the default video mode. Use this
mode for movies.
• Video mode 2 : Cross color suppression and DCDi
mode
Use this mode for sources other than
movies. Select this mode when jaggies
are remarkable in the moving part in the
image.
• Video mode 3 : DCDi mode
This is a demo mode for cross color
suppression. Use this mode for
checking the effect of the cross color
suppression by comparison with the
Video mode 2.
• Video mode 4 : Line doubler through mode
In this mode, Faroudja's line doubler
isn't used. When a playback signal
recorded on a deteriorated videotape or
a poor-quality signal which won't be
projected properly, select the Video
mode 4.
Troubleshooting
If the signal supplied to the VIDEO input isn't displayed
correctly, check the followings.
• When the image isn't displayed correctly in the Video
mode 1 to 3, a failure may have occurred in the line
doubler circuit (IC200 or IC240).
• When the image isn't displayed correctly in the Video
mode 4, a failure may have occurred in the buffer
(IC202, IC203, or IC204), which passes through the line
doubler circuit.
• When the image isn't displayed correctly in the PinP
mode, a failure may have occurred in the buffer (IC202,
IC203, or IC204), which passes through the line doubler
circuit.
When the image isn't displayed correctly in the Video mode
1 to 3, such image can be displayed in the Video mode 4.
