Shooting with a Set Aperture Value
and Shutter Speed
(M: Manual Exposure Mode)
Setting the mode dial to M (manual exposure mode) allows you to
manually set the aperture value and shutter speed.
You can select from the following shutter speeds.
1/2000
1/1600
1/500
1/400
1/125
1/100
1/30
1/25
1/8
1/6
1/2
1/1.6
8
15
Note ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Depending on the aperture value, some shutter speeds may not be available.
Faster shutter speeds allow you to capture a sharp image of a fast-
moving subject. Slower shutter speeds allow you to capture an
image with a flowing effect and emphasize the movement of the
subject.
Use the up-down dial to set the aperture value.
Use the ADJ. lever to set the shutter speed.

Turn the mode dial to M.
• The mode symbol appears on the
picture display, and the current
aperture value, shutter speed, and
exposure value indicator are
displayed on the right edge of the
screen.
