ADJUSTMENTS
8.5 MARQUIS: CYLINDER TO BOTTOM BLADE
ADJUSTMENT (A Fig. 8.5)
To check that the cutting cylinder is correctly to the
bottom blade, tilt the machine back, hold a thin
piece of paper between the edge of the blade and
spiral cutters and turn the cylinder manually.
The paper should be cut cleanly along the length of
the bottom blade, if not, some adjustment is
necessary, BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Adjustment is made by turning the adjustment
screws (A) clockwise to move the cylinder closer to
the blade.
It is recommended that an 1/8 of a turn is made
alternately to each adjusting screw, checking
frequently with the paper until the correct setting is
achieved.
8.6 SUPER CERTES/SUPER BOWL: CYLINDER
TO BOTTOM BLADE ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 8.6)
To check that the cutting cylinder is set correctly to
the bottom blade: tilt the machine back, hold a thin
piece of paper between the edge of the blade and
spiral cutters and turn the cylinder manually.
The paper should be cut cleanly along the length of
the bottom blade, if not some adjustment is
necessary BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - the
cylinder must be able to turn freely.
Adjustment is made by loosening the locknut (A)
and turning the adjustment screws (B) clockwise to
move the cylinder towards the blade.
It is recommended that an eighth of a turn is made
alternately to each screw, checking frequently with
the paper until the correct setting is achieved.
WARNING
Turn petrol tap to the "OFF" position before
tilting the machine rearwards.
8.7 CYLINDER CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 8.7)
The adjustment of the cylinder clutch is made with
the clutch in the engaged position. slacken the two
nuts (B) either side of the plate, then turn them both
in the same direction until the correct adjustment
has been made. Retighten the nuts.
