• If 240 VAC Utility voltage is present at
the fuse connections, but not at the
sytem control panel, repair any wiring
between the fuses and the system
control panel.
• If no voltage is present, proceed to
TEST 7 - Check for 240 VAC at 10
Amp fuse inside Automatic Transfer
Switch.
TEST 7 - Check for 240 VAC at 10 Amp Fuse
Inside Automatic Transfer Switch.
1. Gain access to the Automatic Transfer
2
Switch.
2. Check the two fuses located inside the
Automatic Transfer Switch.
• A blown fuse indicates a shorted circuit.
Repair any shorts and replace fuse.
• If fuses are okay, proceed with Step 3.
3. Make sure Utility voltage is turned ON.
4. Measure for Utility voltage across wires on
the load side of the fuses, going to the
standby generator (Figure 15).
Figure 15
• If 240 VAC Utility is present at the fuses
in the transfer switch, but no voltage is
present at the fuses in the generator,
there is an open circuit between the
generator and the Automatic Transfer
Switch. Repair/replace any defective
wiring and proceed to TEST 2 - Check
Engine Oil Pressure.
• If no voltage is present at the fuses in
the Automatic Transfer Switch, repair/
26
replace wiring between Utility power
and the fuse holder.
TEST 8 - Check ECU Fuse.
1. Turn the SYSTEM switch to OFF.
2. Remove the 15 Amp fuse from the system
control panel.
3. Remove the system control panel cover to
gain access (Figure 16).
Figure 16
4. Locate and inspect the 20 Amp ECU fuse
(Figure 17,A).
Figure 17
• A blown fuse indicates a short in the
circuit. Because this fuse primarily
protects the ECU and it's functions, a
blown fuse would likely be related to
something in the ECU or throttle
control. Repair or replace any shorts
and replace the fuse, then proceed to
TEST 2 - Check Engine Oil Pressure.
• If the fuse is good, proceed to Step 5.
5. Set meter to measure DC Voltage.
