2. Remove the 15 Amp fuse from the system
contol panel.
3. Inspect the fuse to see if blown.
• If fuse is good, proceed to Step 4.
• A blown fuse indicates a short in the
circuit. Repair any short and replace
fuse before proceeding to Step 4.
4. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
5. Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable
from the starter motor.
6. Isolate Wire #13 (small wire) from the
positive (+) battery cable (Figure 8).Do not
allow Wire #13 to touch ground.
Figure 8
7. Reconnect negative (-) battery cable to
negative battery terminal.
8. Ensure UTILITY voltage is turned ON.
9. Reinstall 15 Amp control panel fuse.
10. Set the meter to measure DC voltage.
Connect positive (+) meter test lead to
Wire #13. Connect negative (-) meter test
lead to negative (-) battery terminal.
11. While observing the meter and keeping
the positive (+) meter test lead connected
to Wire #13, momentarily touch Wire #13
and meter test lead to the positive (+)
battery cable, then remove (Figure 9). This
will turn on the trickle charger long enough
to read the trickle charge output voltage
on the meter.
Figure 9
12. About 13.5 VDC should be measured
when the wire is removed from the post.
The trickle charge voltage will diminish
quickly.
• If no voltage is measured, proceed to
TEST 3 - Check 50 Amp Battery
Fuse.
• If voltage is measured, the trickle
charger is functioning. Reconnect all
