Release
Release
The RELEASE command is used to release previously reserved logical units. It is not an
error for an Initiator to attempt to release a reservation that is not currently active. In this
case, the Target returns GOOD status without altering any other reservation. A third-party
release option for the RELEASE command allows an Initiator to release a logical unit that
was previously reserved using the third-party reservation option.
