Troubleshooting Chart

While normal care and regular maintenance will
extend the life of your equipment, prolonged or
constant use may eventually require that service be
performed to allow it to continue operating properly.
The troubleshooting guide below lists the most
common problems, their causes and remedies.

Troubleshooting the Collection System

Problem
Cause
Excessive vibration
Cutting blades are bent or unbalanced.
Blade Mounting bolts are loose.
Loose blower pulley.
Blower impeller blades are bent or broke.
Excessive grass
Collection bags are full.

Blower belt is worn, loose or broken.
WARNING
To avoid serious injury, perform maintenance
on the tractor or mower only when the engine is
stopped and the parking brake engaged.
Always remove the ignition key, disconnect
the spark plug wire and fasten it away from
the plug before beginning the maintenance, to
prevent accidental starting of the engine.
Remedy
Replace the cutting blades.
Tighten blade mounting bolts to 70 ft-lbs
(94 Nm).
Tighten the appropriate pulley. Replace if
excessively worn.
See your dealer.
Empty bags.
Locate and remove plugged debris.
Use a slower ground speed.
Empty bags.
Use a slower ground speed.
Cut grass when it is dry.
Cut grass at a higher deck height setting.
Replace with a new blower belt.
