Activating launch control

The launch control helps the rider to generate optimum motorcycle acceleration at the beginning of a
race. The maximum speed of the engine with the throttle valve fully opened (full throttle) is reduced.
After the start, it is gradually increased up to the maximum engine speed. The rider opens the throttle
fully throughout this procedure. The clutch must be operated exactly as it would be without launch con-
trol activated.

Remove the plug-in stand

Shift the transmission to idle.

Condition
Ambient temperature: < 20 °C (< 68 °F)

Push the cold start button in all the way.

Press the electric starter button

Press the electric starter button for at most 5 sec-
onds. Wait for 30 seconds before a further attempt
at starting.

At temperatures below 15 °C (60 °F), several
attempts at starting may be necessary to warm-up
the lithium-ion battery and thereby increase the
starting power.
During the starting process, the malfunction indi-
cator lamp lights up.
Condition
The motorcycle is stationary.
The engine is running at idle speed.
The transmission is in neutral.

Press and hold the MAP and TC buttons simultaneously.
The malfunction indicator lamp flashes orange rapidly.
