    Placing Originals Placing Originals This section describes the procedure for placing originals on the exposure glass and in the ADF. Take care to place originals after any correction fluid and ink has completely dried. Not taking this precaution could cause marks on the exposure glass that will be copied onto paper.

    Color Functions Color Functions This section describes functions that are used for color copying. Selecting a Color Mode Select a color (or colors) that suits your originals and copying requirements. For color images, refer to “What You Can Do with This Machine <Color Func- tions/Color Adjustments>”.

    Copying Convert Colors Copies by changing the color in the original to a different color. Important ❒ It is possible to specify up to 4 colors. ❒ To use this function, [Full Color] must be selected. ❒ If any other color mode is selected, you cannot select [Convert Color]. Press [Full Color].

    Color Functions Selects the new color. You can adjust the density of each color in four steps. To select User Color, press [User Color], and then select the color. After selecting all colors to be converted, press [OK] three times. Place the originals, and then press the {Start} key.

    Copying Note ❒ The width of the color to be deleted can be adjusted in five levels. If the col- or width is set to [Wider] and red has been specified, colors, which are close to magenta or orange, will also be deleted. The color width can be adjusted in User Tools.

    Color Functions Color Balance Adjusts the overall color tone when the overall copy is reddish or bluish. Press [Edit / Color]. Make sure that [Color] is selected before pressing [Adjust Color]. Make sure that [Color Balance] is selected. Adjust the color balance by pressing [Lighter] or [Darker]. Press [OK] twice.

    Copying Color Balance Program You can also store the color balance setting as a color balance program and recall it when you want to use it. You can store up to three programs. Note ❒ If you want to change the registered settings, register them one more time. In this case, the previously registered contents will be changed.

However, as the color of highlighters is difficult to repro- duce, the copy might not come out depending on the color or a different color might be copied.

Dark texture originals (such as newspaper or recycled paper) will be copied so that background will not be reproduced.
