Problem
No beep heard and no LCD
backlight when applying power,
but unit does have mains power
No mains power
MelcoREMOTE constantly resets

Faulty field wiring
Sensor fault
Unit of measure not applied
Possible cause(s)
Loose wiring
Damaged/faulty power supply
Over-current or short circuit
Tripped switch or circuit breaker
Ancillary equipment (e.g.
contactors or external I/O
modules) drawing too much
current
Short circuit across 24VDC power
supply
Damaged/faulty power supply
Check wiring polarity.
Check continuity of field wiring
If possible, check sensor reading
is as expected using a multimeter
Apply unit of measure to the input
Possible solution(s)
Check connections between
power supply and MelcoREMOTE
are secure
Check 24VDC is being supplied
from the power supply using a
multimeter, if not contact supplier
Remove all connections from
MelcoREMOTE other than power
supply, then troubleshoot field
wiring
Reset the switch or circuit breaker
Power ancillary equipment from a
separate power supply ensuring a
common ground connection
between power supplies
Remove the short circuit
Check 24VDC is being supplied
from the power supply using a
multimeter, if not contact supplier
