DIMM Blank Population

DIMM Blanks are required in order to maintain adequate thermal levels and airflow. The
requirements are as follows:
One CPU installed – All CPU 1 DIMM (channels A, B, and C) slots must either have a
DIMM or a DIMM blank installed. You may leave the CPU 2 DIMM slots empty or store
extra DIMM blanks in the blue DIMM slots.
Two CPUs installed – All Blue DIMM slots (A, B1, C1, D1, E1, F1) must either have a
DIMM or a DIMM blank installed. You may store extra DIMM blanks in any unused
CPU1 DIMM slots.

Drive Bay Population

To maintain the proper air pressure within the system, all hard drive bays must be populated
with either a hard drive, or drive blank.
