Sending Messages

Messages can be sent using any of the following three options:
from your Nextel phone
from the Message Center on nextel.com
from any email application.
Sending Messages from nextel.com
To send a message from the Nextel Web site, select Message Center or the
Send a Message icon from the nextel.com home page. Click Send a Message to
send a message to a single recipient or click Group Messaging to send a
message to more than one recipient.
Address the Message
To address your message to a particular recipient or group, follow the steps
below.

Enter the 10-digit Nextel phone number of the recipient(s) to which you
would like to send a message. If you're sending a Group Message, click
the add button after entering each Nextel phone number to add them to
the list of intended recipients.
• To enter a phone number you have stored in your Nextel Address
Book, click the Address Book button. For information on using
Address Book with Two-Way Messaging see "'Click To' Send a
Message" on page 101.

Click Create Message after all phone numbers have been entered.
• Nextel will automatically determine if the intended recipient is a
Two-Way Messaging subscriber. A double asterisk (**) will appear
after the Nextel phone number of Two-Way Messaging subscriber(s)
who have the ability to reply to your message. Nextel phone numbers
without the asterisks indicate non Two-Way Messaging subscribers.
They will be able to view your message but will be unable to reply to
your message.
Create the Message
Complete the "From" and "Subject" fields if desired and type your
message in the "Message" field to create your message.
• Click Count Characters to determine the number of characters in
your message. Messages are limited to 500 characters.
