Configuring Macintosh

This chapter explains how to configure a network printer in a Macintosh EtherTalk
environment. The actual procedures to configure a network printer are slightly different
depending on the version of the Mac OS. This chapter describes how to configure your printer
for Mac OS 8. If you are using a different version, refer to the manual that comes with your
version of the Mac OS for more information.

Changing to EtherTalk

Follow these steps to configure a Macintosh computer to use EtherTalk.
Macintosh Configuration
Note: To print from a Macintosh, the optional PostScript 3 is required.

Open [Control Panels], and double-click the [AppleTalk] icon.

Select "Ethernet" from the [Connect via] pop-up menu.

If you change zones, select a name from the [zone] pop-up menu.

Close the [AppleTalk] control panels.

Restart the Macintosh.
