B. Waste toner level check control
• The waste toner level is determined by the number of times that the waste toner full sen-
sor is blocked and unblocked while the toner collecting screw makes two rotations.
• As the amount of waste toner increases, the actuator is raised by waste toner and its
amplitude decreases. This reduces the number of times that the waste toner full sensor
is blocked and unblocked.
• Once the machine detects there is a toner full condition, the waste toner full indication is
not reset until the waste toner box is replaced with a new one.

C. Waste toner full sensor actuator movement
• The following illustration shows the waste toner full sensor actuator movement while the
toner collecting screw makes one rotation. The amount of waste toner is determined by
the number of times that the waste toner full sensor is blocked and unblocked while the
toner collecting screw makes two rotations.
