Warnings

The following warnings are for the setup, use, maintenance, and repair of this equipment. The
exclamation point symbol alerts you to a general warning and the hazard symbols refer to
procedure-specific risks. When these symbols appear in the body of this manual or on warning
labels, refer back to these Warnings. Product-specific hazard symbols and warnings not
covered in this section may appear throughout the body of this manual where applicable.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD (GROUNDING)
Some oil-based and flammable materials generate static electricity when sprayed. Static
electricity creates an explosion and fire risk. Your sprayer has a grounding cord that will
conduct the static electricity to a grounded electrical outlet. The sprayer and all objects in spray
area shall be properly grounded to protect against static discharge, sparks or shocks.
Connect the grounding cord when spraying flammable or static producing oil-based
materials.
If there is static sparking or if you feel a shock, stop spraying immediately and connect the
sprayer to a properly grounded electrical outlet with the ground wire provided.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

Move the sprayer away from the spray area to a non-hazardous location. Plug the ground wire
into the sprayer.
Unwind the ground wire from the spool and plug it into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
If the ground wire is not long enough to reach a grounded electrical outlet, a 3-wire grounded
extension cord may be used to reach a grounded outlet.
