If you connect your computer to the UPS and use the Powerware Software Suite CD, you can
configure the UPS to recognize the number of EBMs installed.

In the United States and Canada, call 1-800-IBMSERV (1-800-426-7378). In Europe, the Middle
East, and Africa (EMEA); Latin America; or Asia-Pacific, call the IBM office that services your
account. Please have your serial, model, and part number ready when you call (see Figure 29).

Verify that your computer is connected to the UPS communication port using the
supplied cable.
2.
Install the Virtual Front Panel software from the supplied Powerware Software Suite
CD.
3.
Configure the Virtual Front Panel software for the correct communication port (COM1
or COM2) on your PC.
4.
Select the Battery tab, then select the number of EBMs you are using from the
pull-down menu (you can choose up to 4 EBMs).
5.
Click OK and close the software.
