Configuring Syslog Servers
You can configure up to eight syslog servers that reference remote systems where you want to log system
messages.
Cisco recommends that you configure the syslog server to use the management virtual routing and

Command or Action
[no] logging timestamp {microseconds | milliseconds | seconds}
Example:
switch(config)# logging timestamp milliseconds
show logging timestamp

copy running-config startup-config
Example:
switch(config)# copy running-config startup-config
Configuring System Message Logging
Purpose
Sets the logging
time-stamp units.
By default, the
units are seconds.
Note
(Optional)
Displays the
logging
time-stamp units
configured.
(Optional)
Copies the
running
configuration to
the startup
configuration.
This
command
applies to
logs that
are kept
in the
switch. It
does not
apply to
the
external
logging
server.
