Hydraulic Pump

How to
Test the Hydraulic Pump
When removing a hose assembly
or fitting, the O-ring on the fitting
and/or hose end must be replaced
and then torqued to specification
during installation. Refer to
Section 2, Hydraulic Hose and
Fitting Torque Specifications.
Perform this procedure with the
manual override knob turned fully
counterclockwise to the closed
position.
1 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hose
from the high pressure port at the top of the
main function pump.
Bodily injury hazard. Spraying
hydraulic oil can penetrate and
burn skin. Loosen hydraulic
connections very slowly to allow
the oil pressure to dissipate
gradually. Do not allow oil to squirt
or spray.
2 Connect a 0 to 5000 psi / 0 to 350 bar pressure
gauge to the high pressure port on the pump.
3 Turn the key switch to ground control and pull
out the red Emergency Stop button to the on
position at both the ground and platform
controls.
Part No. 52075
4 Activate a function enable button and any lift
function button at the ground controls.
Result: If the pressure gauge reads
3000 psi / 207 bar, immediately stop. The pump
is good.
Component damage hazard. If the
pressure exceeds
3000 psi / 207 bar, see 6-2, How
to Adjust the System Relief Valve.
Result: If pressure fails to reach
3000 psi / 207 bar, the internal relief valve
setting is incorrect OR the proportional valve is
faulty OR the pump is faulty and will need to be
serviced or replaced.
5 Remove the pressure gauge and reconnect the
hydraulic hose.
