Adjusting the Contrast

Press the Services Home button, then touch Scan To.

Touch the Advanced Settings tab, then touch Image Enhancement.

On the Image Enhancement screen, select an option:
Auto Contrast: To enable the printer to set the contrast automatically, select this option.
Manual Contrast: To adjust contrast manually, select this option. To increase or decrease the
contrast, move the Manual Contrast slider up or down.

Touch OK.

Automatically Suppressing Background Variation

When scanning originals printed on thin paper, text or images printed on one side of the paper can be
seen on the other side. Use the Auto Suppression setting to reduce the sensitivity of the printer to
variations in light background colors.
To select Auto Suppression:

Touch OK.
Touch the Advanced Settings tab, then touch Image Enhancement.

Under Background Suppression, touch Auto Suppression.
Touch OK.

Specifying the Original Size

At the printer control panel, press the Services Home button.
Touch Scan To, then select an option.

Touch the Layout Adjustment tab.
Touch Original Size, then select an option.

Touch OK.

Erasing Edges

You can specify an amount of space to erase from the edges of your scans.
To use Edge Erase:
1.
At the printer control panel, press the Services Home button.
Touch Scan To, then select an option.

Touch the Layout Adjustment tab.

Touch Edge Erase.

To change the Edge Erase settings, select an option.
All Edges: Erases all four edges by the same amount. To specify the amount to erase from the
edges, click the All Edges arrows.
