Creating and using localized language files

9600 IP Deskphones are shipped with localized interfaces in a defined set of multiple languages. If
you want to create a localized interface in a language that is unavailable, use the Language
localization tool to create localized language files.
Language localization tool is a MS
deskphone. The file includes two macros that generate the localized language file. A user can
import these language files to the SIP IP deskphone.
You cannot create new text labels by using the language localization tool. If the language file does
not contain the strings for a given text label, the phone uses the built in English language files for
display.
Before you begin
®
• MS
Excel must be installed on your computer.
• You must have administrative rights to store and access the file on the HTTP server.
Procedure
1. Download the Language localization tool file from support.avaya.com.
2. Open the Language localization tool on your computer.
3. Enter the details of the required translation. See Language localization tool field-descriptions
for information about the fields.
4. Click Create language file.
The output language file is created in a XML format and saved to the same directory where
you have stored the tool.
5. Copy the output language file to the HTTP server.
6. Restart the deskphone. On rebooting, the deskphone downloads the language file from the
server.
