Possible cause
There was not
enough light.
The flash was
on, but the
subject was too
far away.
A light is
behind the
subject.
The scene had
many light-
colored objects,
such as a white
dog in snow.
The date and/
or time was set
incorrectly or
the time zone
has changed.
Solution
Wait for natural lighting
conditions to improve.
Add indirect lighting.
Use the flash (see page 41).
Adjust the
EV Compensation
(see page 51).
Use
Adaptive Lighting
page 62).
Make sure your subject is within
the flash working distance. If so,
try using the
Flash Off
(see page 41), which will require
a longer exposure (use a tripod).
Use the
