Installing the Cables

Cajun P550R/P880/P882 Switch Installation Guide
The following cable types are used with the P550R/P880/P882
switches:
Fiber cables with SC-type connectors
Straight-through Category 5 cables with male RJ-45 connectors
(end station/NIC (network interface card) card connections). All
I/O ports are crossed over internally so you can use straight-
through cables to attach to end stations
Crossover cables with male RJ-45 connectors (switch-to-switch
connections)
Table 1-1 lists the types of port pinouts for the out-of-band ethernet
console. Refer to Chapter 2, "Configuring the Cajun Switch
(Layer 2 & Layer 3)," for more information.
