DAILY AND BEFORE USE

Check hydraulic hose-lines: Inspect hydraulic hose-lines for signs of wear or damage.
WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - ALWAYS replace worn or damaged hydraulic
hose-lines immediately. DO NOT operate the mower with defective hydraulic hose-lines.
Inspect the mower for signs of oil leakage. Tighten fittings or replace seals as required.
Check fasteners: Check that all nuts, bolts and pins are secured correctly
in place and in good condition.
Check safety devices:
WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - Ensure that all safety guards,
shields and protective devices are securely in place and in good
working order.
Check tyres: Examine the condition of the tyres and check that inflation
pressures are correctly set, refer - SPECIFICATIONS.
WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - Ensure that damaged tyres
are replaced. Ensure that tyre tread depths comply with road traffic
regulations.
Check cutterdecks:
Examine the condition of the cutterdecks.

Cutterdecks.
Check operator presence controls and engine start interlock switches:
WARNING :
PREVENT ACCIDENTS - Keep bystanders away when checking operator
presence control interlock switches. DO NOT use the mower unless the operator presence con-
trols work correctly as described below. If difficulties arise, consult your "Toro dealer".
Operator presence seat switch: Sit on the operator seat and start the engine with the parking brake
on. Lower the cutterdecks to the ground and engage the cutterdeck drive. Rise from the operators seat
and check that the cutterblades come to a stop after an initial 0.5 to 1 second delay.
Cutterdeck drive interlock switch: Stop the mower engine. Operate the cutterdeck drive switch to
the 'off' position and turn the ignition key to position 'I'. The cutterdeck drive switch indicator light
should illuminate. Refer - OPERATING THE MOWER.
Operate the switch to the 'on' position. The indicator light should go out and the engine should not
start when the ignition key is turned.
Parking brake interlock switch: Stop the engine. Engage the parking brake and turn the ignition key
to position 'I'. The parking brake indicator light should illuminate. Refer - OPERATING THE
MOWER.
Disengage the parking brake. The indicator light should go out and the engine should not start when
the ignition key is turned.
