Selecting the photometry area

Display the Menu display.
For details, see "Displaying the Menu Display in
CAMERA Mode" on page 14.

Press v or V of the control button to select AE
AREA, then press ENTER of the control button.
The AE Area display appears.

Press v or V of the control button to select the
photometry areas, as follows:
Center Weighted: The center areas are the main
objects for photometry.
FACE: The face areas are the main objects for
photometry.
Background: The background areas around face
are the main objects for photometry.

Press ENTER of the control button.
The display returns to Menu.

Functions of the Camera
Changing Auto Erase Mode
(AUTO ERASE)
Data of images taken by the camera are stored in the
memory area for storing image data. This camera is
factory-preset so that recording is disabled once the
memory area for storing image data becomes full.
However, you can change this setting (AUTO ERASE:
OFF) so that you can continue recording by
automatically erasing the oldest images one by one if the
memory area is full. However, a protected image is not
erased, and the next image is automatically erased.

Press v or V of the control button to select AUTO
ERASE, then press ENTER of the control button.
The Auto Erase display appears.

Press v or V of the control button to select Auto
Erase Mode:
ON: Once the memory area becomes full, the
oldest image data are automatically erased one
by one, thus enabling continuous recording.
OFF: Recording becomes disabled once the
memory area becomes full.

Press ENTER of the control button.
The display returns to Menu.
