Change oil after the first 5 operating hours.
If you leave the wire on the spark plug, someone could start the engine and seriously injure you
or other bystanders.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug (Fig. 18) before you do any maintenance. Set the wire
aside so that it does not accidentally contact the spark plug.

Maintenance Procedure
Check engine oil level
Check for loose fasteners
Remove all dirt and debris from around the muffler
Clean the foam pre-filter and the paper air filter
Grease the rear idler assembly

Change engine oil
Check/replace the spark plug
Clean the engine and cooling system
Oil the castor wheels and pivot points
Touch up chipped paint

Servicing the Air Cleaner

Check foam element before each use. Clean the foam
element and paper cartridge every 25 operating hours.
Clean them more often if you operate in dusty or dirty
conditions. Replace both elements if they are excessively
dirty of damaged.
To clean the elements, complete the following:
1. Stop the engine and pull the wire off of the spark plug.
2. Unscrew the knob and remove the air cleaner cover
(Fig. 19).
