Error message
Error writing to "Port
name" for "Application
name": The request could
not be performed
because of an I/O device
error. Do you wish to retry
or cancel the job?
System Process-Out of
Virtual Memory
Your system is running
low on virtual memory.
Please close some
applications. You can
then start the System
option in the Control
Panel and choose the
Virtual Memory button to
create an additional
paging file or to increase
the size of your current
paging file.
Possible cause
B Cable connection is
improper or printer is
not ready.
B The terminator setting
is improper.
Your system is running
low on virtual memory.
Recovery
Perform the following
procedure.
1. Confirm that the
terminator is correctly set.
2. Confirm that the printer is
ready.
3. Confirm that the printer is
correctly connected with
a SCSI cable.
4. Turn off the computer,
then turn it on again.
Increase the virtual memory
by following the procedure
below.
1. Click Start, Settings,
then click Control Panel.
2. Double click the System
icon.
3. Click the Performance
tab.
4. Click Change....
5. Increase the value of
Initial Size [MB] and
Maximum Size [MB].
6. Click Set.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Close.
9. Click Yes in the System
Settings Change dialog,
then restart your
computer.
If the same error message
appears after increasing the
virtual memory, increase it
more.
