Appliance Setup

A. Fixed Glass Assembly
WARNING! Risk of Asphyxiation! Handle fixed glass
assembly with care. Inspect the gasket to ensure it is
undamaged and inspect the glass for cracks, chips or
scratches.
DO NOT strike, slam or scratch glass.
DO NOT operate fireplace with glass removed,
cracked, broken or scratched.
Replace as a complete assembly.
Removing Fixed Glass Assembly
1. Remove the decorative front from fireplace and set
aside on work surface.
2. Locate the glass latches that are on the upper edge
of the glass frame of the appliance. See Figure 11.1.
3. Use both index fingers to release the glass clips.
4. Allow glass to tilt forward. Grasp glass on the upper
return lip of glass frame and lift up and out. The glass
should lift easily out of the bottom retaining lip.
Replacing Fixed Glass Assembly
1. Locate retaining lip on lower front face of firebox.
2. Place glass assembly into retaining lip end. Tilt top
of glass assembly toward fireplace.
3. Assure proper left to right placement of glass and
engage all four spring latches.

B. Remove the Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath
the firebox. Verify all components are with the fireplace.

C. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the firebox or underneath in the control cavity.
D. Install Glass Refractory Panels
See-Through Models: Start at Step 3.
1. Single-Sided Models:
Set back glass panel, labeled A in Figure 11.2, into fi
rebox. Back panel will be held in place by the side
panels and will sit on the heads of the screws holding
the media tray in place. Set back glass panel against
the back wall of the firebox with the smooth side of the
glass facing outward. Insert retaining bracket through
the slot in the inner firebox heat shield. Line up the
existing hole in the heat shield with the hole closest to
the bend in the bracket and secure in place with a
screw.
Set left side glass panel, labeled B in Figure 11.2,
into firebox with the smooth side facing outward.
Insert a retaining bracket through the slot in the inner
firebox heat shield. Line up the existing hole in the
heat shield with the hole closest to the bend in the
bracket and secure in place with a screw. Ensure the
side glass refractory panel is stationary. See Figure
11.3. Repeat for right side panel.
2. See-Through Models:
Set left side glass panel, labeled B in Figure 11.2,
into firebox with the smooth side facing outward.
Place retaining bracket over glass panel so holes in
the bracket are against the firebox side. Use two self-
drilling screws to secure the bracket to the firebox
side. See Figure 11.4. Repeat for right side panel.
