Histogram – Displaying the luminance distribution of still pictures

Press e while holding down F.

Press ac to choose the histogram
display mode, then press e.
• In M mode, when histogram is not set to OFF, the
subject is displayed in the viewfinder or on the

monitor at the appropriate brightness for the
selected exposure.
• The histogram or the direct is not displayed in the following situations even
if u is set to ON or DIRECT.
Note
• You can turn the histogram display on and off during exposure
compensation. g"Exposure compensation" (P.108)
• The histogram displayed during shooting may differ from that displayed
during playback.
• The histogram is not displayed in movie mode.
(Changing the position of the histogram target mark
While the histogram is displayed in shooting mode, hold down F and use the
arrow pad to move the histogram target mark. The area inside the target is
displayed in green on the histogram.
To restore the histogram target mark to its original position, press e while
holding down F.
