TROUBLESHOOTING
BEasy Checker
Trouble
When the key is turned, the
lamp doesn't light on.
The water temperature lamp
lights on when operating.
The oil pressure lamp lights on
when operating.
The battery charge lamp lights
on when operating.
The engine is not interrupted on the Z482, D722 models.
BEngine
Trouble
Not started.
Not turned or
slow turning.
Normal turning,
but not started.
Engine starts but stops
immediately.
Cause
Bulb is below or defective.
Component or wiring defect of charging
circuit
Engine overheating.
Water temperature sensor faulty.
Water temperature sensor wiring faulty.
Insufficient engine oil.
Lubricating system in trouble.
Oil pressure sensor faulty.
Oil pressure sensor wiring faulty.
Fan belt loose or damaged.
Alternator terminal in poor contact.
Alternator problem.
Cause
Battery trouble.
Insufficient battery charge.
Slow turning at cold circumstance due
to high viscosity of engine oil.
Fuse blown out (Slow blow fuse)
Fuel shortage.
Fuel does not flow.
Air and water are contained in fuel
supply line.
Injection pipe is loosened.
Fuse between solenoid input code
and grounding is blown.
Engine oil shortage.
Countermeasure
Replace
Check, repair
See "Precaution Overheating" in
"RADIATOR" section. (See page 38.)
Replace the water temperature sensor.
Repair the wiring.
Add engine oil.
Check the system.
Replace the sensor.
Repair the wiring.
Readjust belt tension or replace the belt.
Connect tightly.
Check the alternator.
Countermeasure
Replacement of battery.
Recharge battery.
Replace engine oil to D5W40 or D10W30
for cold.
Replace fuse.
Refuel.
Check fuel filter. If filter is dirty, replace.
Check fuel tank. Remove the settled
impurities or moisture.
Check pipe and fastening clamp. If any
damage exists, replace or repair.
Relieve air.
Remove water inside of fuel tank and
filter.
Re-tighten.
Replace fuse after checking that no
trouble exists on moving section of
solenoid. (10A)
Add engine oil to upper limit of gauge.
