from defective Li-Ion battery packs!
If battery fluid from NiCd, NiMH or Li-Ion battery
packs leaks out and comes into contact with the
skin, rinse the affected area thoroughly with
water. If battery fluid leaks out and comes into
contact with your eyes, wash them with clean
water and seek medical
treatment immediately!
Machines with the designation BSZ...:

7 Operation

Charge the battery pack before use.
NiCd and NiMH: The battery pack reaches its
full capacity only after being charged and
discharged 5 times (charge cycles).
The maximum number of charge cycles can
only reached if an exhaustive discharge of the
battery pack is avoided. If performance dimin-
ishes, recharge the battery pack.
Store NiMH battery packs when charged and
recharge after 6 months at the latest.
Li-Ion battery packs (14.4 V and 18 V)
have a capacity and signal display:
- Press the button and the charge level is
displayed by the LEDs.
- If one LED is flashing, the battery pack is
almost flat and must be recharged.
- If all LEDs are flashing, the electronic system
has switched off the battery pack (self-
protection mode). The battery pack is either
flat (the electronic system protects the
battery pack against exhaustive discharge),
or has become overloaded or too warm
during operation (temperature monitoring).
To continue using the battery pack: Press the
button or insert the battery pack into the
charger, which is ready for use. (Rapid
cooling is possible in the "AIR COOLED"
battery charger.)
Li-Ion battery packs (12 V)
- If the battery pack is either flat, or has become
overloaded or too warm during operation, then
the electronic system switches the battery pack
off (self-protection mode). To continue using the
battery pack: Insert the battery pack into the
charger, which is ready for use. (Rapid cooling
is possible in the "AIR COOLED" battery
charger.)
