Chapter 4 – AT Commands, S-Registers, and Result Codes
Function & Description
Set break control. In on-line data state with V.42 protocol or normal
mode, then break signal to DTE through RS-232.
Enter on-line command state but do not send break to the remote
modem.
Empty the data buffers; send break to remote modem immediately.
Send break to the remote modem immediately.
Send break to the remote modem in sequence with data in on-line data
state with direct mode, then receive break signal at serial port.
Immediately send break and enter on-line command state.
Immediately send break through. In on-line command state with V.42
protocol or normal mode, the DTE issues a transmit break command.
Empty the data buffers; send the break to remote modem.
Send break to the remote modem immediately.
Send break to the remote modem in sequence with data. In on-line data
state with normal mode, receive break signal from remote at modem
port, send to serial port.
Empty the data buffers; send the break to the local DTE.
Send break to local DTE immediately.

Modem protocol options.
Normal mode. No protocol, but flow control is allowed.
Direct mode. No protocol and no flow control are allowed.
